Official currency of Spain is the Euro. Credit cards and travelers cheques are accepted at most establishments. ATMs, which are found almost everywhere, are generally the easiest and most economical way of obtaining money. A trip to Alicante is also a popular excursion, to sample the rich history of the city and many fiestas and festivals to sample the local cultural traditions.

Language

Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.
