Currency in Costa Del Sol

Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are the cheapest and most convenient way of obtaining money.

Package holidays in the Costa Del Sol mostly centre around the beach resorts. Marbella holidays offer lovely beaches, upmarket hotels, restaurants and shopping combined with a vibrant nightlife. Benalmadena offers great value for money, a long sandy beach and a beautiful marina lined with waterfront bars and restaurants. There’s also a weekly flea market that’s worth a visit. Package holidays to Torremolinos are very popular with families and those wanting a lively holiday, Torremolinos is the biggest resort on the Costa Del Sol and has numerous bars, restaurants and clubs. Language

Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.

Nightlife

The nightlife in the Costa Del Sol is varied between the resorts, Marbella is more upmarket with extravagant restaurants and nightlife. Benalmadena offers an abundance of bars and restaurants and is great for all the family, whilst Torremolinos is ideal for those wanting to party all night with lots of bars and clubs open until the early hours.
