Costa Dorada Holidays
Located South of Barcelona the most popular resort on the Costa Dorada is the lively resort of Salou . Holidays in Salou are very popular with families and the Port Aventura theme park is a major attraction. Many hotels in Salou offer great all inclusive packages but for budget holidays there are some great self catering apartments. Also known as the golden coast Salou and neighbouring resorts La Pineda and Cambrills boast fantastic sandy beaches, ideal for watersports.
Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are the cheapest and most convenient way of obtaining money.

The Universal Port Aventura theme park is very popular with families. Based around several country themes including Mexico, the Port Aventura theme park boast waterslides, rollercoasters and lots of entertainment for all the family.
Language
Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.
Nightlife in the Costa Dorada
Salou offers an array of bars and restaurants to choose from. British holiday makers are well catered for with English cusine aswell as traditional Spanish tapas and many bars open until the early hours. The nearby resorts of Cambrills and La Pineda are more relaxed and offer a great alternative to lively Salou.
