The holiday island of Ibiza is located in the Mediterranean Sea and is one of the Balearic Islands. Ibiza holidays offer a wide variety of resorts and feature a beautiful rugged coastline dotted with sandy coves and glorious beaches with wonderful clear water. Ibiza has cultivated a unique, relaxed atmosphere that attracts an incredibly diverse range of visitors. The island’s main town is located in the south, and is the centre of the island’s nightclub scene and has a lively marina with some great restaurants. There is a satellite island called Formentera about 5 miles away for those who want to escape the crowds.
Official currency of Spain is the Euro. Credit cards and travelers cheques are accepted at most establishments. ATMs, which are found almost everywhere, are generally the easiest and most economical way of obtaining money. Though money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, it is advised to get them exchanged at banks, as they offer the best rates.

The neighbouring resort of San Antonio, San Antonio Bay, offers a more relaxed atmosphere for families and the opportunity to share in the nightlife from a comfortable distance. Other great family resorts in Ibiza include; Playa den Bossa, Santa Eulalia and Es Cana.
Language in Ibiza
Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.

The island of Ibiza can offer an active nightlife with many bars and clubs presenting wild nights to party animals or, in the more family orientated resorts, quiet and friendly bars. You will definitely find an activity to suit all ages on a holiday in Ibiza.
