Lanzarote Holidays

Lanzarote is one of the most popular Canary Islands, famed for its fantastic sandy beaches, clear water and all year round sunshine. Puerto Del Carmen and the quieter neighbouring resorts of Playa de los Pocillos and Matagorda boast some of the islands most beautiful beaches. Costa Teguise has several sandy beaches and Papagayo Beach close to the resort of Playa Blanca is more relaxing and unspoilt. Lanzarote holidays offer superb accommodation from all inclusive hotels to self catering apartments. Puerto del Carmen is the biggest and liveliest resort in Lanzarote with a vibrant nightlife. Costa teguise and Playa Blanca are also very popular and offer some lovely 3 and 4 star all inclusive hotels.

Currency in Lanzarote

Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are generally the cheapest and most convenient method of obtaining money.

Holidays in Lanzarote

Costa Teguise holidays are great for watersports enthusiasts with superb conditions. For families there is also a waterpark and plenty of bars and restaurants. Holidays in Puerto Del Carmen are more lively and the resort offers plenty of bars, restaurants and shops aswell as a beautiful marina. When on holiday in Lanzarote there are plenty of places to visit , the Timanfaya National Park offers the most amazing volcanic landscapes, whilst a trip to charming inland villages such as Yaiza offer a sample of typical Canarian bars and restaurants.

Language

Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.

Nightlife in Lanzarote

Nightlife in Lanzarote is very varied between resorts. Puerto Del Carmen is the most lively with it’s host of bars, clubs and restaurants centered around the sea front promenade and the marina area. There is something for everyone from karaoke, cocktail bars and a casino. Family holidays in Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca are also very popular and the resorts offer plenty of places to keep the family entertained.
