Currency in Larnaca

Official currency of Cyprus is the Cyprus pound. 100 cents make up a Cyprus Pound. Money and cheques can be exchanged at banks and it is advisable to have them in Pounds Sterling. Banks do not work on weekends, but the ATM's throughout the island operates 24 hours a day and are the easiest way of obtaining money. Major credit cards are accepted at almost all the establishments and tourist venues.

Larnaca holidays should include visiting the older parts of the town, the 17th century fort, remains of the ancient city of Kition and the holy shrine of Hala Sultan. Language in Cyprus

Though a small percentage of Cypriots speak Turkish, the major language of Cyprus is Greek. The Cypriot dialect of Greek is quite different from that of mainland Greece. English, German and French are also spoken by a lot of people, but only in the tourist areas.
