If beer is your thing, then a city break to Munich is definitely for you. The world famous Oktoberfest (which starts in September?!) is a must and the locals will welcome you to join them and embrace their customs and traditions. Parades, dancing in the street, sausages, lederhosen, music and of course the flowing beer come together to give you an experience you will never forget (unless you drink too much beer of course!!).

Munich city breaks boast architecture from the Baroque and Renaissance periods giving your city break in Munich a charming, village like feel. There's shops a plenty in the Old Town and no Munich city break would be complete without a trip to the Auer Dult, a huge flee market selling everything from clothes to antiques.

Take your city break to Munich on the run up to Christmas and you´ll be lucky enough to sample Munich Christmas markets. There are over 20 Christmas Markets in Munich located throughout the city including a Medieval Christmas Market with gospel singing at the Wittelsbacher Platz, a pink Christmas Market (Stephansplatz) and even one at Munich’s international airport with an ice skating rink.

Getting around whilst on a city break in Munich is easy thanks to the superb transport system, ranging from S-Bahn lines, trams, buses and taxis. However make your trip to Munich more interesting by hiring a bike, cycling is a very popular mode of transport in Munich due to its flat terrain.

The airport is around 28kms out of the city, buses and taxis are standing by waiting for your business, however the quickest way into the city is via the S-Bahn trains.
