Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and with a great all year round climate, has been a popular holiday destination for many years. Playa de las Americas is the largest resort and is very popular amongst the younger crowd, Los Cristianos, originally a fishing village, is much quieter than its neighbour, whilst Costa Adeje is a purpose built resort located nearby and great for a cheap holiday deal in Tenerife.
Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are generally the cheapest and most convenient method of obtaining money.

The resorts in Tenerife cater to the needs of everyone whether you like hiking, fishing or watersports. Scuba diving in Tenerife is very popular with dolphin and whale spotting a major attraction. Tenerife has numerous golf courses in the South of the island and golfing holidays are popular all year round . There is also plenty to keep the children entertained, including aquaparks, go-karting and parrot farms. For a taste of real Tenerife, travel to one of the traditional villages untouched by tourism and vist the Mount Teide National Park
Language
Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.
Nightlife in Tenerife
Nightlife in Tenerife varies in each resort. Playa de Las Americas caters for the 18-30’s with all night clubs and bars based mostly around the Veronicas. Holidays to Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje offer a much calmer atmosphere than Playa de Las Americas holidays, but still have an array of bars and international restaurants suitable for a family holiday.
