This adults-only resort is only steps away from Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic. The all-inclusive Punta Cana Princess offers a full-service spa, 5 restaurants and evening entertainment. Plaza Bávaro with its many shopping venues as well as countless restaurants, diverse bars, pubs, cafés and other entertainment venues lies just 1km away. At the Punta Cana Princess, meals are dished up in five restaurants. The main one’s a buffet affair with a variety of options, while the four à la cartes tick off Italian, Swiss, Mediterranean and Tex-Mex. There’s a snack bar for light bites and between-meal grazing, too. You can quench your thirst at three bars. One’s a swim-up spot, another’s open 24/7, and the third’s in the lobby. There’s nightly entertainment at the latter one, too.

The outdoor complex comprises an exotic mangrove forest, the pool’s a huge curvy number with palm tree and lounger-lined terraces, plus a swim-up bar. There are loads of watersports to try your hand at, including kayaking, snorkelling and windsurfing. You can even have an introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool, or head out and do it for real in the open sea. Banana boat rides, deep sea fishing trips and glass-bottom boat excursions are all on the cards, too (extra charges may apply). Back on dry land, the list’s just as lengthy. Beach volleyball, archery, petanque, tennis and aerobics classes all make the list. There’s a good choice of organised activities in the pool, too.

All the usual suspects are in place at the spa, with facilities like a saunas, hot tubs and a hydro-massage pool sitting alongside treatments like massages and facials (extra charge). There’s a gym here, too.

If you fancy your chances, you can head over to the Avalon Casino a couple of miles down the road with a free shuttle bus to take you there and back. There’s also nightly entertainment in the lobby area.

The comfortably equipped suites are very spacious and come with a separate living and sleeping area. All come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone and satellite/cable TV. In addition, they feature an ironing set, tea/coffee maker, fridge, minibar (stocked with water, soft drinks and beer on a daily basis), a ceiling fan and a hire safe. Air conditioning is centrally regulated.
